Sally Hansen Haul & Review [Long Post + Picture Heavy]

I am currently sitting with my feet soaking in a bath of warm water under my desk... it burns because I have tortured my poor feet in heels/horrible shoes all weekend (prom, formal dinner etc...) and so every sore bump is whining.
The reason I am doing that is so that I can finally use all the Sally Hansen stuff I've bought :)

Salon French Manicure Kit

It promises French Nails in "2 easy steps" - I didn't really believe that but the concept of colour in pen form seemed attractive enough to purchase.

The brush tips also seemed promising and the sleek packaging certainly attractive but...

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation - Review

Another product which I was really excited to buy and turned out to be a flop.
I bought this about a month ago and have been wanting to review it but couldn't bring myself to do it. I've worn it about 2 or 3 times and never since.

Bourjois seem to have a problem with the colours of their foundations - the powder I have is fine, but this particular foundation has a very poor shade choice. I chose the lightest, #51 Vanilla... even then, it is way too dark for me.
It's been a while since I encountered such an ORANGE hue since watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Oopma-loopma doo-pa-di-doo...
This is really sad. I went to London for about 6 hours and the horror happened. When I returned home I noticed in my mirror that the bottom HALF of my face is white, with a distinct GRADIENT going from orange to white!!!! This was only because I touch the half bottom of my face (e.g. leaning on my hands, rubbing my nose) and it all came off - this never happens with other foundations. Ever. Even the cheap-o ones. It looked so surreal - and embarrassing though I doubt anyone I know noticed.

The saddest thing is that apart from the downsides I like everything else about the foundation. The pump is really sturdy and useful, the glass bottle is fancy and feels like quality and it smells absolutely gorgeous.
such a pretty bottle...

In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even if you like the orange hue, because the staying power is atrocious as well.

NOTD - Barry M 'Peach Melba'

I was SO excited to try this colour for a while now (ever since the sun cam out, actually) and I have to say I've never been this disappointed. :(
A gorgeous peachy colour - its perfect for summer and corals and reds and just adding that hint of sunshine to your nails without looking trashy. Almost perfect... until you try to apply it. :/

1. Literal definition of GLOOPY. It's so thick - and not nice thick. Disgusting thick that dries too quickly to be able to go higher up the nail (do not mistake this for it being fast-drying! It really isn't).
2. Needs at least 3 coats to give an even colour. Which leads to:
3. Dries for about 10 YEARS.
4. Is merciless when it comes to cracks or nail unevenness.

For such a gorgeous shade, the application was such a disappointment. Barry M seem to have this segregation in their nail polishes - some are amazing in both application and colour. Some are just awful at application - the colours are always incredible though, and that's what lures us into the trap :(

The next time I'll be taking this out is when I have 2 hours and a lot of patience to spare! Perhaps I just got a strange bottle - that happens sometimes. Do give it a try and see if it works for you.

Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter Review

There's been a hype about these and they've been all over my local Boots/Superdrug so I thought why not?
In the advert, Emma Stone is wearing this orangey-coraly colour that looks so lush ♥ (except I don't really like her). The Internet tells me she is wearing Peach Parfait - when I saw it, I thought it was a little muted and not very fun so...

...I decided I got tired of my pinks and went for the extreme - the lip butter in #15 Tutti Frutti - it is SO orange in the case:
oooOoooooOoooOoOOoo...range
I was a bit like "ohmygod WHAT HAVE I DONE?" after I opened it and saw the orange hue but was so excited to try it on that I put it on at the bus stop...
nail polish is Barry M Peach Melba (review coming soon)
As you can see it's not as orange as the case - but you can make it that colour by adding a lot of it on. I luuuurve this stuff.

Colour payoff: surprisingly rich. One swipe gives a peachy glow, two make it more orangey, three make it true to the tube colour. Not something I expected off a "lip butter"
Texture: smoooooooooth. Soft and silky, a little on the slippery side.
Hydration: this is what they are playing at in the advert - one of the key aspects of this is that is supposed to be very hydrating and..... *drumroll*... it really IS. It's very balmy - it definitely doesn't feel like a lipstick. You kinda want to put it on whenever you have dry lips, it's that good.
Durability: a little downside. It really doesn't last very long, needs kinda once-an-hour touchups - again, like a balm rather than a lipstick. Sometimes I feel like I've just eaten it all off my lips (ewwww) because the smoothness just fades away. Good thing being, though, that it doesn't stain - you don't get those nasty lines of colour around the edges of your lips.
Overall: definite fave. I was really surprised that it complimented my skin colour and didn't look ridiculous - YES, it does look a little unusual and takes some getting used to, but is worth it!

One this I was a bit :( about is the fact that it is 100% unscented. I know it's better 'cause there are less chemicals but if you call something Tutti Frutti and give it a playful candy-orange colour, AT LEAST MAKE IT SMELL LIKE CANDY. :(
